Workshops "Confrontation - cooperation - coordination. Christian Churches in the Soviet Bloc" will take place in Budapest on 26 September.
The discussed topics will include:
- State–Church relationships, Church policies; ideology versus pragmatism
- National and ethnic characteristics; professional careers and religiosity
- Motives for cooperation or confrontation; human rights movements and the Church
The workshops are organised by the Hungarian National Committee of National Remembrance, HAS Research Center for the Humanities, the Federal Institute for Culture and History of the Germans in Eastern Europe, and ENRS.
